Transformations of form

Transformations

A transformation is a change in form or appearance.

We were to find seven identical objects and apply a transformation of form to each of those objects.
The objects I chose were 7 cubes made out of carton paper and tape.

       DISTORTION

is the act of distorting, so the condition of being distorted which is expressed by cutting and folding inwards part of each face of the cube.

                SYMMETRICAL

it can be said that is the possess or display of symmetry, in this case is shown by cutting the cube in two equal parts.

           ASYMMETRICAL

is the characteristic of asymmetry in the spatial arrangement , so it is irregular in shape or outline.

               ADDITIVE

which is the addition of something on something else that is represented by adding a piece of carton paper triangle shape to one of the cubes.

          SUBTRACTIVE

involves of produces a subtraction so removing or subtracting something from something else. One face of the cube has a triangle missing.

                ABSTRACTION

the vocabulary would describe this transformation as "the act of abstracting", but it is much more complex because it can be expressed in infinite ways and so is so various that is hard to describe. I applied the transformation of abstraction on this cube by sitting on it, pressing and squashing it obtaining an example of abstraction.

          FRAGMENTATION

which means breaking, fragment in less pieces.

Transformation is what a Landscape Architect is involved when is to deal with a project.

Greenhithe Golf Course

Greenhithe Golf Course

First presentation of my project.

Memory is the concept, the golf course was created around a labyrinth-maze which represent how hard is for people to reach answers to their questions.
Also the 9 holes route follow the route of how to get to the centre of the maze.

MEMORY

As part of the project 3
[ MOVING AND VIEWING
the following picture represents my idea of understanding the concept of
MEMORY

It is a conceptual model of a golf course. I choose a golf course to represent the concept of memory, because the Greenhithe site, with its suggestion and its quietness reminds me the time when I was used to play golf with my father. Besides, sitting and closing your eyes in Greenhithe, using your senses and a little of imagination and creativity, all these things make me think of a place that I miss, called home. The soft wind that slightly refreshes your skin, the movement of the grass around you, the birds coming and going with the seasons, the light changing because of a lonely cloud passing on the sky.

This is what makes me think about such a quiet place like a golf course.

PLAYING WITH COLOURS

Using my photographic documentation
 from the physical colour wheel,
I created a new composition
which explores the spectrum of colours.
